This role is WAH/Flex , which allows most work to be performed at home. WAH/Flex e mployees must be fully vaccinated against COVID - 19 if they choose to come onsite or if required to periodically come on site .

Develops and directs business development strategies to accelerate Cigna's growth through inorganic means (acquisitions, JVs, minority/VC investments, and strategic partnerships). Present assessments and findings to senior management. Key deal team member with responsibilities for leading diligence teams, managing contract development support, providing financial analysis and assessment, and participating in negotiations. Development of relationships with innovative and target company C-suite and private equity / venture capitalists. Actions have significant impact on key business objectives.

Responsibilities:

This position supports the growth of business via inorganic means (acquisitions, JVs, minority investments, and strategic partnerships).

  • Develop business development strategies including business / opportunity assessments and focused on growth through inorganic means. Direct consulting engagements to support strategy work.
  • Effectively crystallize and present business development strategies into coherent framework to audiences for staffing and decision making to senior management, including Cigna Ventures Board of Managers (ELT).
  • Support the sourcing of inorganic and investment opportunities and facilitate pipeline progression of these deals
  • Key deal team member in acquisitions, minority investments / VC investments, and strategic partnerships
  • Manage business due diligence teams, leading cross functional project teams (internal and external)
  • Support contract negotiations for acquisitions, JVs, minority / VC investments and strategic partnerships (particularly business and structural aspects of the contract)
  • Lead or participate in business model / opportunity financial assessment including business inputs to valuation models
  • Research potential business opportunities and present findings to Executive Leadership Team.
  • Ensure all proposed deals and actions are consistent with and further enterprise and business strategies. Continue to evolve / further refine strategies as appropriate.


Qualifications:
  • Health care or health insurance experience required.
  • Strategy consulting, private equity investment or investment banking background is strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding strategic acumen.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills at all levels of management.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's level degree preferred.
  • Ability to develop and present presentations for senior management.
  • Strong modeling capability and financial management skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity.
  • Able to work collaboratively and to drive consensus and collaboration as part of a diverse group.


For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $142,300 - $237,100, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
