This position is available to candidates who reside in Virginia, Maryland or Washington, DC.

Role Summary:

The Wellness Consultant is a thought leader and industry subject matter expert who supports the workforce of the future. The incumbent works with sales partners, prospect clients, and producers to promote Cigna's go to market wellness solutions.

General Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a market resource for local sales team supporting internal and external speaking engagements. Ie. finalist presentations, conferences, wellness councils, requests for proposals, community initiatives, etc. as applicable
  • Supports the acquisition of new business, by educating targeted distribution partners (brokers/consultants) regarding Cigna's well-being strategy and approach.
  • Builds new wellness solutions, as needed
  • Supports the development, training and implementation of workplace wellbeing offerings to address retention/turnover, DEI and return-to-work challenges
  • Reinforces learning on strategy development, tools and other wellness solution related topics with internal matrix partners
  • Supports two or more local markets, must be located in one of geographies listed under qualification below
  • Partners with market leadership to coordinate health engagement strategic initiatives for the market operations plan.
  • Mentor and coach team members as well as lead onboarding / training of new hires, as applicable
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • At minimum, Bachelor's degree in health education, health promotion or related field. Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Certified through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC) -- candidate may achieve certification within one year post-hire.
  • Five or more years' experience leading and building multi-year health improvement and cost savings strategies.
  • Ability to travel, may include overnight
  • Written and oral communication skills must be concise, clear and convincing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, facilitation skills and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships, builds networks and influences others through excellent interpersonal skills to drive deliverables and results.
  • Highly self-motivated to do what it takes to achieve success in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Skilled at showcasing technology and demo's.
  • Incumbent must live in Maryland, DC, Virginia, or being willing to relocate to one of these locations


This role is Flex/WFH which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $95,600 - $159,300, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
