21-22 Manitou Academic and Social Emotional Success Coach

Manitou Park Elementary has 400 students PreK- 5th grade. Presently student math achievement is well below target at 23% of students performing at grade level. For the 2021-2022 school year, Manitou will continue grow our math support intervention team to address these needs. Applicant will meet with math teacher team weekly to determine the needs of students underperforming in math.

Member Duties : Members will meet weekly with team to review student data and determine student needs at each grade level. Members, along with teacher teams, will design and implement math and reading interventions to support determined student needs. One on one or in small groups, members will meet with students, set goals, and implement interventions using a small group math curriculum. Data will be monitored during weekly PLCs and then monthly by the school's Academic Excellence Committee. Members will meet weekly with family liaison, counselor, and Assistant Principal to review student data and determine student needs at each grade level. Members, along with teacher teams, will design and implement social emotional supports. In small groups and at recess, members will show students strategies for engaging with peers and building relationships appropriately. Data will be monitored during weekly SEL meetings and then monthly by the school's Whole Child Committee.
