Position: Event Day Operations Staff


Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC & Highmark Stadium are seeking individuals who are interested in expanding their knowledge of venue operations within a professional sports venue. We are looking for Event Day Operations Staff for the remainder of the 2021 events season, starting as early as July 31st. Event Day Operations Staff will work directly with the Ticket Operations Manager, Ticket Sales Team, and/or Director of Food & Beverage. This is a part-time, event-based position.
Responsibilities:Event Day Operations Staff will be expected to work the majority of game days and event days. You will have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of a professional sports venue. Game and event day responsibilities will include: providing excellent customer service to patrons while assisting with all aspects of ticket operations and/or food and beverage, handling various forms of payment and completing settlement reports at the end of shifts, and supporting all other game day staff as needed.
Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Background or interest in ticketing, event operations, food and beverage, hospitality, stadium operations, business, or customer service-related fields
  • Willing to work non-traditional hours (weekends, evenings, etc.)
  • Cash handling experience
  • Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and enthusiastic about working within a sports-related environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to problem solve under pressure
  • Experience in event operations
  • Knowledge of Heartland POS systems is a plus

Candidates can expect and request to work in one of the following positions:

Ticket Scanner
  • Greet all customers upon entrance to Highmark Stadium
  • Scan tickets as fans enter the stadium
  • Confirm that each fan entering the stadium has a valid ticket
  • Assist fans with any customer service-related issues

Mobile Ticket Ambassador
  • Gain a strong understanding of the mobile ticketing process and be able to explain it to fans
  • Assist fans in operating/troubleshooting their digital tickets
  • Offer tips to fans in line to improve the speed/smoothness of the mobile ticketing process
  • Report any mobile ticketing issues that you cannot solve to the Game Day Ticket Operations Supervisors or the Ticket Operations Manager

  • Actively direct patrons to their seats
  • Assist facilities operations with sanitization of high contact areas
  • Be prepared to answer or assist with any customer service issue
  • Remain attentive throughout the event and take a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Interact clearly, professionally, and effectively with all fans and staff

Concessions Associate
  • Participate in the set-up of stand and arrangement of inventory
  • Deliver excellent customer service
  • Follow all food safety and alcohol service policies
  • Assure that all products are merchandised properly and re-stocked as needed
  • Troubleshoot equipment and records any equipment needing repairs or replacement
  • Properly record all transactions in the point-of-sale system
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the concession stands at the opening, during the event, and closing

Food Runner
  • Become familiar with the suites and concession stand operations
  • Assist the Concessions Associates as needed
  • Run food/drink orders from one location to another promptly
  • Ensure a high level of performance, guest satisfaction, and profitability
