Role Summary

As a member of Cigna's Core Solutions team this person will be responsible for supporting and executing critical initiatives for the organization's Out-of-Network (OON) Medical Cost-Containment programs.

Due to the costly nature of out-of-network claims, Cigna's primary strategic focus is to keep people in- network and protect our clients and customers when out-of-network happens. We do this by offering cost containment solutions that are designed to achieve the greatest overall savings while prioritizing customer protection from balance-billing.

Key duties of the role will include: management and maintenance of the solution suite, complex issue

navigation and resolution, providing insights on out-of-network drivers, and partnering with matrix partners (Sales, Underwriting, Medical Economics, Strategic Solutions) to create actionable strategies for reducing out-of-network utilization and cost both proactively and reactively. This role will require frequent interaction with a myriad of internal and external audiences and needs someone with strong communication and intrapersonal skills.

Ability to execute in the role will require a 'customer focused' mindset (internal & external), polished professionalism, a passion for guiding and problem solving, attention to detail, proven ability to execute, and courage to deliver under a high-visibility, high-pressured environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Matrix partners to create and deliver monthly Cost Containment Program Performance Reports, including program adoption, earnings updates, and industry trends to internal Executive Sales Leaders across US Commercial.
  • Present Cost Containment program value delivered to external Clients, Brokers and Consultants.
  • Lead all internal/external Cost Containment program training for brokers/consultants, clients, and U.S. Commercial Sales Teams.
  • Lead all Cost Containment program Go-to-Market activities including market message creation and internal/external distribution.
  • Oversee Cost Containment product innovation and development working closely with key Matrix Partners including Sales, Legal, Medical Economics, Finance, Underwriting, and Network Operations.
  • Turn data into actionable insights by creating strategically relevant dashboard views for Market Leadership around OON costs and drivers.
  • Guide matrix partners through complex issue-resolution support and triage.
  • Respond to RFls/RFPs and support sales on new business opportunities.
  • Monitor Federal and State legislation proposed/passed impacting Cost Containment Programs.
  • General solution suite maintenance / management (scorecards, reporting, CKIT, sales support tools, FAQs, playbook, etc.).


Desired Experience

  • Previous Cost Containment or Network experience with an understanding of industry dynamics and plan benefit design (in-network vs. out-of-network; delivery system; regulatory implications; how we go to market, etc.).
  • Ability to work closely with Executive Level Sales Leaders.
  • Ability to deliver in a high-visibility space.
  • Ability to work in a heavily matrixed environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with sales, brokers, clients.
  • Success in delivering and/or managing multiple initiatives while remaining detail-oriented and on-track.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or similar field, MBA preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in Product/Analytics/Sales or related field
  • Some travel required


This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
