Immediate opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the Accounting team for one of the top employers in the Temecula Valley. Seeking a candidate with experience in high volume A/P processing as this position is responsible for processing over 600 invoices per week. This position involves the following job functions:
Process all expense and inventory payables.
Prepare weekly payment proposals for AP check run, print checks, prepare overnights, and mail checks in a timely manner.
Respond to internal and external inventory accounts payable calls in a timely and professional manner. Research and resolve disputed invoices and other issues to mutual satisfaction.
Reconcile vendor statements for all inventory vendors on a monthly basis.
Reconcile accounts payable aging with the general ledger on a monthly basis. Review accounts payable vouchers that are aged over 60 days to determine if they are still outstanding and should be paid. Review any credit balances (debit memos) and call the vendor to request a check for the balance or advise the Cash Disbursement Manager to take the credit when we make our next payment to the vendor.
Maintain accurate and detailed records for all debit memos created for inventory price changes. Ensure that all debit memos are communicated to the appropriate vendor and old outstanding items are communicated to management.
Review and maintain accurate "return" detail for inventory items and product complaints. Analyze returned inventory general ledger account and book appropriate entries. Collect on returns as needed.
Maintain accurate analysis of the Received not Invoiced general ledger accounts. Research and resolve problem items. Prepare journal entries as required.
Responsible for tracking and depositing of accounts receivable and non-accounts receivable checks that are received at the Temecula facility.
