We Care Arts
We Care Arts believes in the healing power of creating and producing art that transforms physical, developmental and emotional challenges into a life of full possibilities. The majority of the individuals we serve are on government assistance. Usually a combination of health benefits, food assistance, and Social Security Income, due to their disabilities. We do not currently take documentation on household or individual incomes. Instead, we base this statement on the contracted services we provide to the participant. Currently, of our 190 total participants, we estimate 80% of them are living in poverty. Many of our participants cannot work traditional full time jobs without significant job coaching. Our participants are encouraged to make each day a "great day" with experiences that serve as a job, and activities that serve as job training skills. Through these job training programs and regular coaching with job coaches and teachers, our participants enter the work force striving to care for themselves in the future. Their goals seem simple, but in reality we want them to be self-reliant instead of system reliant. It is our hope that encouraging our participants through our programming will advance them toward poverty alleviation.
